Axis Bank Accelerates International Financing Strategy

Axis Bank plans to raise $700 million through an External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) facility, supported by international institutions, reflecting its strategy for diversification and access to global financial resources.

Axis Bank, one of the largest private banks in India, is gearing up for a significant international financial move. The bank has announced plans to raise $700 million through an External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) facility. This financial tool will feature two tranches with differentiated terms: one for three years and another for five years, totaling the mentioned amount. Support from CTBC Bank of Taiwan and United Overseas Bank of Singapore is expected, along with crucial participation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a wing of the World Bank. Further contributions from other financial institutions are anticipated to complete the syndication process. This move underscores the bank's commitment to diversification strategies and access to international capital in an ever-changing global economic environment.
