Bitcoin Navigates Volatile Waters After Fed Decision
Bitcoin operates around $76,000 after the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates. The Fed's move reflects current inflationary pressures and suggests potential further increases, but the cryptocurrency maintains its position, indicating persistent demand for highly volatile assets.
On Thursday (17), Bitcoin maintains its position around $76,000, with a rise of 0.7% in the last 24 hours. This stability comes amid an economically volatile global landscape, following the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates by 0.25 percentage points to the range between 3.75% and 4%. The Fed's move not only reflects current inflationary pressures but also signals potential further increases this year. According to Pedro Fontes from MB Research, Bitcoin's current behavior is a reflection of persistent demand for highly volatile assets amid expectations of future rate hikes. Moreover, maintaining levels around $75,000 presents an important psychological threshold that could potentially mitigate the possibility of a more aggressive correction in the future. 'Here we see the balance between long-term security and short-term instability,' Fontes commented. Among altcoins, Solana and BNB have shown favorable performances with significant value gains. Demand for Bitcoin-related ETFs in the United States remains strong, reflecting ongoing interest from institutional investors seeking exposure to cryptocurrencies. Despite the globally volatile macroeconomic environment, both altcoins and Bitcoin seem resilient, indicating that there is still growth potential in the crypto market amidst current economic uncertainties.
