Bitcoin Remains Steady Amidst Fed’s Calmer Inflation Gauge

The milder inflation data in the U.S. did not significantly impact Bitcoin prices, which have remained stable over the past week. This stability reflects the broader global trend of cryptocurrency investment against monetary and macroeconomic policies.

In recent days, the cryptocurrency market has maintained its stable dynamics, especially following the release of milder inflation data in the United States. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.2% month-on-month and rose to 2.5% year-over-year in July, marking the slowest pace since March 2021. Energy and gas prices have decreased for a second consecutive month, while grocery prices dipped for the first time this year in March. These softer inflation numbers may ease pressure on the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates in September, as lower rates tend to encourage investment in yield-free assets like Bitcoin. However, it's important to note that although inflation is currently more subdued than a year ago, it still remains higher and wages are not keeping up with price increases in the U.S. This creates a complex situation for global investors, potentially making cryptocurrencies more attractive against low financing costs. Despite significant volatility since February, especially following incidents like attacks on Iran, Bitcoin's recent resilience suggests strong demand for security and diversification among investors.
