Crypto Cards: New Reality of Payments

The global use of crypto-linked cards is significantly increasing, reflecting a change in how these payment methods are being utilized. Bipa has introduced personalized plans to cater to various user needs, while stablecoins are solidifying their position as popular payment options.

In recent months, a significant growth in the use of crypto-linked cards has been observed. According to data from a16z crypto and Paymentscan, global spending on these cards reached US$ 759 million in July 2026, marking a 150% increase compared to the same month last year. This trend is extending beyond sporadic conversion and withdrawal operations, reflecting a change in user behavior that integrates these cards into recurring expenses. The average transaction value for these transactions also increased from US$ 59 to US$ 86 over the past year, indicating greater integration into daily payment routines. Stablecoins are playing a crucial role in this scenario, with USDC accounting for approximately 58% of total volume and USDT about 26%. In Brazil, crypto cards are primarily being used for grocery purchases, where 35% of transactions are made through these payment methods. This trend reflects the expansion of stablecoins in the Brazilian market, as data from the Federal Revenue Bureau shows they accounted for around 80% of cryptocurrency transactions declared in 2025, with USDT still dominating at 88.7%. To cater to this growing demand, Bipa launched four plan categories: Free, Plus, Pro, and Max, aiming to personalize the experience for different customer profiles.
