Fed Credibility Not an Issue, PIMCO’s Seidner Says
PIMCO’s Gary Seidner argues that concerns about Federal Reserve credibility are exaggerated and that U.S. bond yields remain attractive. He suggests the Fed continues to be capable of curbing inflation without causing a recession.
The market is currently grappling with significant uncertainty regarding the Federal Reserve's ability to tame inflation without triggering a recession. However, Gary Seidner, founder of the macroeconomic research division at PIMCO, expressed his belief in the Fed's continued success in maintaining a delicate balance between economic stability and fighting inflation. For Seidner, current concerns about the Fed's credibility are more of a temporary reaction to market volatility rather than a long-term sign of monetary policy failures. He notes that U.S. bond yields are attractive for investors at present, despite recent fluctuations in the secondary market for American sovereign debt.
