Geopolitical Tensions and Oil Prices Halt Bitcoin's Momentum
This week's start sees Bitcoin navigating a cautious balance amidst softer U.S. inflation data and rising oil prices, which pose challenges to its momentum. Geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran are also keeping pressure on the asset's valuation.
This week, the Bitcoin market is experiencing a delicate balance between accumulated gains and macroeconomic factors that are acting as constraints. Recent data showing softer inflation in the United States has provided some support to the asset's value, although the movement has been modest. Bitcoin trades at US$ 64,646.78, according to CoinGecko. However, rising oil prices and persisting geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran continue to pose significant challenges for its valuation. According to Gil Herrera, director of strategy and operations at Bitget in Latin America, the external environment remains cautious, with ETFs spot of Bitcoin showing a moderate return to positive inflows after a period of withdrawals. Expert Herrera notes that institutional demand for cryptocurrencies remains resilient despite challenging macroeconomic conditions. However, Marco Aurélio de Camargos, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Vault Capital, cautions that a weekly close above US$ 64,000 would only make the analysis more constructive if Bitcoin can convincingly break through the range between US$ 64,000 and US$ 65,000. This interval represents the current main resistance, with a potential breakthrough potentially opening pathways for stronger recoveries in the Bitcoin market.
