Global Conference Tackles Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Economics

A conference organized by six global financial institutions will address diversity, equity, and inclusion in economics. The event aims to promote discussions on best practices and strategies to enhance sustainable economic development.

The global economy continues to face challenges, including the need to promote greater diversity, equity, and inclusion. To address this issue, six of the world's leading financial institutions – European Central Bank, Bank of Canada, Bank of England, Banco de España, Banque de France, and Banca d’Italia – are coming together to organize a conference dedicated to these topics. The event will take place on March 22-23, 2027, providing a platform for experts and leaders in the sector to discuss best practices and strategies implemented in their respective countries. This gathering comes at a time of increasing global awareness of the importance of these issues for sustainable economic development and financial stability. Greater diversity in economics can lead to broader insights, promote more balanced decision-making, and contribute to overall improved performance of financial institutions and central banks. Additionally, inclusive finance is crucial for achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to reduce global economic disparities.
