South Korea Sustains July Current Account Surplus Amid Strong Exports
South Korea recorded a record current account surplus for July, driven by robust export growth and the growing global economy centered around artificial intelligence. The increase in the trade balance underscores the country's strong performance on the international stage.
Recently, South Korea reported a record current account surplus for the month of July. According to data from the Bank of Korea, the total trade balance stood at $42 billion in July, marking a decrease of $7.65 billion compared to the previous month. In contrast to the same period last year, the figure saw an even more significant increase of $30.1 billion, making it the highest for any July and the second-largest monthly figure since June when the surplus reached $49.73 billion. This development reflects a global trend that is gaining momentum in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), with South Korean exports benefiting from this international movement.
