The Bullish Rally of Bitcoin: A Macroeconomic Analysis
Bitcoin has achieved new highs, rising 36% since June, with a technical movement that suggests a bullish trend. The next resistance level is at $80,560 and breaking above this could lead to even higher targets. Macro-economically, the environment for cryptocurrencies is favorable, with U.S. government measures aimed at regularizing them contributing to their legitimacy as strategic assets.
In the past month, Bitcoin (BTC) has seen a significant rise in price, reaching a daily peak of $79.989 and currently trading at $79.765, marking an increase of 3% from the last session. This movement follows a prolonged period of consolidation that spanned from July 4 to August 18, during which time Bitcoin oscillated between its 100-EMA and 200-EMA levels, indicating a battle between buyers and sellers. However, since then, buyers have taken firm control, pushing the price above both the 100-day moving average ($66.113) and the 200-day moving average ($69.092). These breaks helped tip the technical bias in favor of an upward trend, paving the way for the recent run towards $80,000. The next important swing area stretches back to November 2025, with a key resistance level at $80,560. A break above this level would bring traders targets such as $82,833, which represents a previous swing high, and $83,916, the 38.2% retracement of the decline from Bitcoin's all-time high in March 2021. This line of retracement is particularly significant, acting as a crucial indicator for confirming a more robust recovery. However, without such a break, the rally can still be viewed as a simple correction within the broader downward trend. From a macroeconomic perspective, Bitcoin also benefits from an increasingly favorable environment. The U.S. government's stance and regulations toward cryptocurrencies, including the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, contribute to legitimizing Bitcoin as a strategic asset. Additionally, moves towards clearer crypto regulation have reduced uncertainty, potentially opening doors for greater institutional adoption.
